Cutie And The Beast

Can you find the smart-ass in the comments below the photo?

Nina & costar in all their cuteness

NINA DOBREV is a young actress on the hit TV series “The Vampire Diaries.”

She’s on Twitter and, as you can see, she likes to post pictures. When she
does, she gets page after page of comments like the ones above.

So let’s find out what happens when actor Stephan Tobolowsky — a balding,
not-so-great-looking guy who’s about my age — posts pictures from the cast party
of another hit TV show, “Glee.”

That top photo is weird. What is so special about a bloke holding a feather with a head stuck on it? And he has what looks like an arm in his other hand that doesn’t go anywhere?

Not cute. Strange.

At least the bottom three have all their bodies and bits. And the bloke on the right looks a bit like me if I had no hair.

I dunno GD, ask @RomyBee who says that Nina is “soooo beautiful!” and that Matt’s eyes are “soooooooooo icy-blue!”

Maybe she has some insight.

But Nina[?] has no body? And if you don’t mind me saying so, the lights are on but there’s nobody in, in either of ‘em.

Did I somehow give the erroneous impression that I think the two in the top photo are all that?

I’m going to keep replying until I bump into your Blogroll!! ;)

The top two look like they have a combined IQ equal to the current temperature outside. The bottom three at least have a spark about them and look like they’s be a laugh over a few pints?

I don’t know who any of ‘em are, so I’m just guessing.

The cutie young chick IS a decent actress – I’ve seen the series she’s on. Can’t vouch for her intellect although I’m sure it’s quite stunning too.

Of course the point is that anything she posts she gets a slew of vapid comments gushing all this sentimentality at her, which isn’t her fault, it’s just the way these young fans are. They do like to go on and on about how cute someone is when they are in fact, cute. She’s cute. No doubt about it now. Read the comments if you don’t believe me.

Stephan Tobolowsky is an American character actor best know for his portrayal of Ned Ryerson the insurance salesman in “Groundhog Day” with Bill Murray. He’s the “bloke” on the right with the beard.

I think you’d like him. I met him some years ago on a film set in LA when I was doing that biz, and he’s a very entertaining fellow. He told a great story that I still remember – he said he was grocery shopping and this woman came up to him gushing and going on about what a good actor he is and how much she enjoys him. “Not unusual,” he said, because that happens all the time in LA.

The thing with her is that he thought she meant his film roles, which have been extensive, and when she couldn’t think of the name of the character she’d seem him do he asked if she was trying to think of Ned Ryerson from Groundhog Day. She asked him what that was and he said, “Well, it’s a movie.”

She said, “Oh, are you a movie actor too?”

Turned out that she’d never seen Groundhog Day or any films he’d been in. She told him she didn’t like movies, and that she was referring to a play she’d seen him do in Westwood (which is part of LA, where UCLA is) about a year and a half earlier. She’d remembered his character from the play and was telling him how much she’d enjoyed it.

“Now THAT does NOT happen in LA!” he said.

Aw bugger! I can’t “reply” so I have to comment!

Possibly what’s wrong with me is that ‘cutie’ reminds me of Victoria Beckham who surely must be a top contender for the greatest waste of space on earth?

I have seen ‘Groundgog Day’ [who hasn't!] but I don’t remember him. I’d say he was chuffed at that conversation!!

He was the annoying chatterbox who comes up to Bill Murray on the street everyday, shakes his hand and then tries to sell him life insurance. Then Bill steps in a puddle while trying to get away. On some days he steps over the puddle instead of in it.

Tobolowsky isn’t a leading man, he’s a character actor with a thousand smaller roles in lieu of a handful of big ones. He’s widely recognized here in the USA but people can never think of his name when they see him, he’s just “that guy from that thing.”
