I lived in San Francisco for seven years, before moving to Chicago for a job. I loved the Bay Area and would go back in a heartbeat, under the right job/personal/family circumstances.

I’m thinking of you guys!!! I understand the dying where you are thing, we’re dying where we are.. and our situation just complicated even more. I don’t have any way to help physically or with ideas or anything, but I’m thinking of you guys and I’m sure E will be when I fill him in too. ((hugs))! Good luck, and I don’t blame you for wanting to move to San Fran, I grew up a couple hours from there myself.

I know in my situation, making a major change like that is both unnerving and exciting. Unnerving because there is so much to do, exciting because it freshens your perspective and zest for life. I am contemplating moving to San Diego. As you said, thank God for Craigslist and Goggle map. I hear San Francisco is a fabulous city and beautiful to boot. My sister has visited there several times, ususally at Christmas time.

Good luck guys, we think it’s an awesome city, especially if you don’t own a car. But remember to stockpile the cash, because you’re going to need it there. We never seemed to have enough during the 10 years we were there.
