storytelling

I don’t care for posting YouTube videos, but I couldn’t resist this one of a reporter taking a ride in the back seat of an F-18 Hornet.

This is because, if you’ll watch the man’s face, you’ll see what I see when I’m telling someone a story.

No kidding.

People seem to like this blog — but when I tell someone a story in person, this is exactly how they look.

If you want to get the full effect, it’s best to mute the sound and pretend you’re me telling this guy something.  Just disregard the helmet and canopy, the swooping background of topsy-turvy clouds and land, and the white contrails streaming out from behind the guy at a thousand miles per hour.  That’s not usually stuff I see around people while telling them a story.

If you’re going to go all out and mute it while pretending you’re me, then you might as well just tell a story out loud while watching this — make it one of your own — and be sure to sync the good parts with the moments that the pilot goes into a steep climb, dive or turn.

Okay, here we go..

Okay, done?  This is usually the point where the person has excused himself to go clean a toilet or something.

Welcome to me.
