You know how we all receive those spam notices where someone has died, is incarcerated or has been overthrown and exiled, and has left us millions of dollars or half of Europe or a castle in the Bahamas? The emails are always from someone with a strange name who’s been trying to contact us and this is our final notice that we should send him or her our information immediately or it all goes to the government.
Yeah, you know what I’m talking about.
I received two in a row the other day – I know this because I always check my spam folder – and I was amazed at the similarities. They were from two different countries, and a man had sent me the first one which was about a woman who’d passed away, and a woman sent me the second one and it was about a man, yet the wording and some of the circumstances were the same.
I’d already emptied my spam folder when I thought of this idea, so I had to wait for another one to come in to start my collection. I didn’t have to wait long – I got one today.
Starting with this one I’m going to save them all into a folder, and after I have so many I’m going to put them in a post. Not as they are, because you all get them too, so that would just be redundant and boring. No, once I have enough I’m going to categorize all the parts of them and present them to you that way.
I only have the one so far, but I’ll show you what I mean here..
Person trying to get in contact - Barrister Marcus Andreen.
Title and/or position – Barrister.
Salutation – “Hope you receive this message!!!”
On behalf of – “The Trustees and Executor of the estate of Late Engr. Jochen Krugger.”
Is this the first attempt at contact? – No, “my earlier letter were returned undelivered.”
Dead or deposed person – Engr. Jochen Krugger.
What happened to him/her – deceased by unknown causes.
How do I know this person? – “Being a widely traveled man, he must have been in contact with you in the past or simply you were nominated to him by one of his numerous friends abroad who wished you good.”
What was special about him/her – “Engr. Jochen Krugger until his death was a member of the Helicopter Society and the Institute of Electronic & Electrical Engineers.”
Reason I’m being contacted – “He left the sum of Thirty Million, One Hundred Thousand Dollars (USD$30, 100.000.00) to you in the Codicil and last testament to his WILL.”
What I’m supposed to do – “Please if I reach you as I am hopeful, endeavor to get back to me as soon as possible to enable me conclude my job. You are advice to contact me with my personal email.”
Now that I’ve received this, the contacting person will – “await your prompt response.”

Okay, so once I have about ten of these, which shouldn’t take very long because I’m quite beloved by world travelers who are going to die soon and deposed dignitaries who wish to come to the United States and need my help, I’ll do this again only I’ll have a whole bunch of things to categorize so that we can compare notes.
