MONEY.. it’s a gas..

I received an email the other day wherein someone offered to pay me if they could advertise on this blog.

I’m a little verklempt!

I was going to wait on advertising until I have about 1000 visitors a day, or until dooce.com tells all of her readers to come here instead of there, whichever comes first.  But this email got me to thinking that maybe I COULD get a little bit of a cash flow going NOW.  The lady who wrote the email said she was with this outfit that does this certain thing, and that for seven dollars paid to my paypal account, she would like me to put a link to their outfit on my sidebar and put a keyword about the certain thing in a post.

She didn’t say whether or not they’d pay me seven dollars each time I put the keyword in a post, or if it was just supposed to be once, nor did she say for how long I was to keep the link in my sidebar.. but she did say that I could say what I wanted as long as it was positive about the certain thing.

Now, I’m thinking that there’s a whole lot I can do with seven dollars.  I could buy a couple of loaves of bread with some lunch meat and eat for a few days.

OR, I could get one of those CDs off the rack at Target.. those ones that have the greatest hits of the eighties all on one disc!  Or even the seventies!

OR, I could get into a taxi and go for like a couple of miles or something.

The possibilities are endless, and all I have to do is put a link on the sidebar for an undisclosed period of time.. possibly forever.. and talk positively about something I care nothing about.

OR.. how about this?

How about you make a little 125 by 125 banner ad, like the ones you see on the sidebar already, and send it to me?  Then you pay me $25.00 each month to leave it there and it links back to you?  I have to approve it first though, because if it’s a lame design, I don’t want it there.  I also have to approve whatever it links back to, because I don’t want it linking back to kiddie or monkey porn, insurance websites or anything political.

THEN.. I write whatever the hell I want.
