Late last year..

by RhodesTer on February 16, 2008

..an old friend of mine was being kind of a show-off by trying to impress me with his real estate holdings and how much money he’s making nowadays by “flipping houses” and developing properties.  It didn’t work – I wasn’t very impressed, and we even ended up coming to the realization that we don’t have much in common anymore.

On the other hand, THIS GUY rocks..

Just hunky-dorey! Making folks in a nursing home look absurdly foolish! I think this guy would have better spent his time flipping off houses, like the bragging guy. I bet the houses retain some modicum of dignity!

I’m not sure we saw the same video – I didn’t see any foolish looking folks, just happy ones.

I’m just pokin’ fun atcha with my silly remark. But I think it’s helpful when we notice that there are many ways to view any type of event or person.

Ohhhh! BALLOONS! I tried to do something similar at a local nursing home, but the idea of using balloons never occurred to me. I went around putting crustaceans on the old people. Then I tried nickels. Then snow-tires. I got no smiles, but a couple of people swore at me. Balloons would have gone over much better.

Think nothing of it – my pleasure.

By the way, guess you heard how I tried to help Britney. I may be high-profile, but I always make time for People.

I never know which is going to be funniest: the blog post or the comments.

When I was in High School our choir used to go sing at the local home. It was simultaneously the most uplifting and most depressing afternoon of the year. This is pretty cool though.

Now, now, don’t sell yourself short. We’re all enchanted by the retirement of Mabel, who was in charge of housekeeping and old as dirt.

Thanks for sharing that, it was really beautiful. The world is a better place because of people like this balloon guy.

Yeah. We were pretty lame. Were I to have been in charge Super Soakers would have been involved.
